What to Expect
Store with confidence when you rent one of our temperature-controlled storage units!
Use Sealed Containers
Store smaller items in containers you can seal to keep them in the best possible condition. Label plastic or rubber containers for ease of access, and ensure there’s no moisture inside a container when you seal it.
You Rent Month-to-Month
You aren’t stuck in a long-term lease when you rent a self storage unit. Rentals happen on a month-to-month basis, so you can change plans whenever you need.
Leave Room for an Aisle
Calculating just the size of your belongings leaves you no room to maneuver in your storage unit. Account for an aisle that lets you comfortably get to the back of your storage unit and carry a container through!
Choosing a Storage Unit Size
What you’re storing should give you an idea for what size you’ll need
Start with the tallest item you need to store – most storage units have a height of 10 feet, which lets most items fit comfortably. If you’re storing the contents of a full room, you can usually consolidate space – a one-bedroom apartment, once put into boxes, can fit inside a 10’ x 10’ storage unit, but the shape of your furniture might have you looking for a 10’ x 15’ instead.
For decluttering projects, smaller storage units can fit dishware or the contents of your home closets, while something like kayak storage could need specific dimensions. Remember that it’s not about raw space – getting your stored belongings in and out of the unit should be taken into account as well. When in doubt, you can always Contact Us to discuss what you’re storing. Our manager can give you advice on the best size for your needs!
